ARRL Santa Barbara Section Council of Clubs - Official Meeting Minutes:

The regular meeting of the ARRL Santa Barbara Section Council of Clubswas called to order at 10:03 a.m. 2-8-03 by the Chairman, Marvin Johnston, KE6HTS.

As the meeting registration record revealed there were 10 designated representatives present, and as those persons represented all of the 9 paid member organizations a quorum was declared.

PR for your club and how to and where with.

A month-by-month program for your Club-News Releases to papers. A discussion was held.

Jack Bankson offered to add a “Speakers List” to the Section Web site.

Rob Griffin, K6YR, spoke on ARRL membership drive and suggested keeping membership applications in your car.

The Chairman called for any new business from the floor:

A motion was offered that would clarify the position of the Council regarding Frequency Coordinators within the Southwestern Division. The problem is the Division Web site erroneously indicates that this organization approves certain Frequency Coordinators excluding all other Frequency Coordinators. This is and never has been the position of this Council. The motion demands that the Councils position be presented as not taking a position on an issue that is not within the purview of the Council within 47 CFR Part 97 of the FCC rules.

The Chairman preferred to correct the issue via a personal request. Considering such action appeared to provide the remedy requested the motion was withdrawn. There being no further business at the meeting, Chairman, Marvin Johnston adjourned the meeting at 11:58 a.m.
