ARES members were placed on standby to possibly assist with
communications on day 2 for this SAR which involved an extensive
search for a Community Service Officer from Juneau Police Department
who was 2 days overdue from a hike.
(The ARES Emergency Coordinator, who is a trained SAR Incident
Commander, assisted with Incident Command) ARES members were stood
down when the missing hiker was found safe and well, except for a
broken hand and a few bruises, and was rescued by helicopter.
