MOTION:

We had a re-cap on the new procedures regarding this report. Moving forward we will report all incoming funds due to fundraising efforts but not refer to any standing balances. The funds are directed to the Red Cross.DISASTER REPORT:
There were no local disasters discussed at the meeting.NET REPORT:
Edgar (KC8VLV) reported that net attendance has averaged with 7 to 8 check-ins per week. He continues to use various topics for discussion. Please make note to participate Tuesday evenings at 8pm, on 146.800MHz.SPECIAL EVENTS:
JOTA is still on our agenda and operations are expected to begin at 10am on October 21-22, 2006. Participants are encouraged to arrive between 7 and 8am for set up. Our plans are to be present on Saturday the 22nd. Additional information about JOTA is available at http://www.scout.org/wse/jota.shtml or the ARRL website. The Bike a Thon was held on October 1, 2006. The event that covered 100 miles in distance, required communication assistance from amateurs. Jeri (KC8YRQ) explained that there were too few amateurs to efficiently support the event. There were injuries and other incidences that would have been better served with additional amateur presence. It was suggested that this event should be brought up next year (a couple months prior) and voted on to be supported as a club project.
CLUB STATION:
The 2 meter radio is not in working condition and should be replaced. Plans are being made to approach Jeff for a replacement.NEWSLETTER:
Our newsletter and web pages remain available. www.qsl.net & www.arcars.us are posted to the Internet. We have a wealth of information available on the websites. The www.qsl.net also has a RSS feed.CLUB PROJECT:
OLD BUSINESS:
New developments have been made to accommodate Red Cross volunteers that have reservations with making their social security numbers available on line. Other acceptable identification includes Credit Card account number and Drivers License. The deadline to submit the background check is November 1st.NEW BUSINESS:
It appears that the Red Cross did not participate with an official booth at the Hometown Security event at the Birchwood Mall last month. There were ARCARS present.Paul noted that participation on the area’s repeaters has been low this last month.
