Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order with 16 members and guests present.
MOTION: to accept the May minutes by Russ (KD8FRE), seconded by Edgar (KC8VLV), approved.
TREASURES REPORT: Suzanne reported that our balance now stands at $484.00.
DISASTER REPORT: ARCARS were not called out for any assistance in May.
NET REPORT: Edgar (KC8VLV) reported that net participation has been lower last month likely due to the nicer weather and other activities.
SPECIAL EVENTS: Mark (N8KPV) is heading up the Fall Harvest Days event. The Farm Museum holds the annual event at the St Clair County Park in Goodells, MI. This year’s event will be held on August 28th through the 30th. He as ordered some hand out literature and apparel for children that visit the event. Mark has also listed the event with the ARRL web site. It should be listed in QST soon. A certificate will be designed for stations that work the event on the air.
4H Fair. Andrew (KC8SPD) has been in communication with the Sheriff department and other participants. There are more meeting on the agenda, but at this time is appears that several organizations will help with this years event.
CLUB STATION: Everything is reportedly working well at this time.
NEWSLETTER: Our newsletter and web page is normally available at www.qsl.net/arcars and www.bandopening.com/arcars , and www.arcars.org. There is a wealth of information available on the website including the RSS feed. A request was made to include the upcoming Farm Museum event on the site.
CLUB PROJECT: The truck renovation project is not likely to be completed by field day. Russ showed a drawing of the plans for the improvements.
OLD BUSINESS: The Feast of St Clair event went well and resulted in a nice donation being made to ARCARS.
NEW BUSINESS: Mike (AA8K) announced that there will be a local amateur trunk sale scheduled for August 9th at 9am. The swap will be held at Vantage Point in Port Huron with free admittance.
Mike (AA8K) reported that the 147.320MHz repeater is now operational with hard line improvements. There are also digital repeaters operational on 2m, 440MHz, and 220 bands. The 220 is located on 223.400MHz emergency frequency.
DX SPOTS/ SPECIAL EVENTS: Jim (N8LUV) reported working France with 5 watts using CW.
FIELD DAY: It was decided that another meeting is necessary and is scheduled for 7:30pm Sunday, June 14th.
Edgar is donating a 1 day pass to the local YMCA to the amateur that logs the most contacts.

The ARCARS & International Traders Net is held every Tuesday evening at 8pm on the 147.300 K8DD repeater.
The International Friendship Net is held every Thursday at 9pm on the 145.370-VA3SAR repeater
The Thumb / Mid Michigan Nets are held Monday through Saturday at 9:30pm on the 147.300 repeater.
HF: The Great Lakes Emergency and Traffic Net is held nightly at 8pm on 3.932 kHz
The AC8W DX Cluster on 144.970 MHz is available. Check it for HF activity.
