SPECIAL EVENTS: Field Day (June 23 through the 25th) was the subject that dominated the meeting. The Avoca site is no longer available for our use. Gene (NA8I) requested that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mrs. Reid for the annual use of the Avoca site over the years, prior to the sale of the property. The prospect of using the Silver Trails Boy Scout Camp was entertained however; we will not be using the camp this Field Day. We are working on a plan to utilize the camp in the future. Kip (KB8WWH) and Shannon (KC8DVT) have offered their property, as well as Bob (N8VBY) and Linda (N8VEP). The group decided to use Kip’s place due to the easily accessibility and location.
Shelters will be needed for the stations, screen tent and ARCARS Trailer.
Victor and Gene will provide generators.
Rigs are to be provided by Gene for the CW station and Mike (KA8UXQ) for SSB, and we are still looking into a 2m station. So far we plan to run as a 2A group.
Portable tables flashlights and lanterns are necessary. We also need operators!
Motion to secure a porta-potty for the event by Victor, seconded by Suzanne and approved.
