Motion
to accept the Treasures Report: by Andrew, seconded by KC8PGE, and accepted.NET REPORT
: Paul reported that we have been getting about 12 check-ins for the ARCARS and Traders’ Net. The 30 day limit has seemed to help the Traders Net as new listings have been coming in.Please remember to check into the weekly ARCARS Net at 8pm Tuesdays.
Also try to support other nets in the area.
NEWSLETTER:
The reminder e-mail will remain the method of alerting members and interested parties. The notice is currently e-mailed to numerous parties around the world.CLUB PROJECT
: The Alinco dual band radio has been secured in a metal box for emergency use by Kip (KB8WWH). The antenna can be mounted right on the box, or connected to an antenna on a support vehicle. The setup is made with ease of use in mind. All that one needs to do is connect it to power and it will work to allow extended use of hand held radios in emergency situations to the repeater. This will allow better communications from the field to the Red Cross Command Center at the Chapter House. The frequencies used for the IVR are 446.800 input with 146.200 as the output for the 146.800 repeater. This should give us true countywide coverage from a disaster site. It was mentioned that a flashlight should be inserted in the metal box and possibly some kind of flashing light to make it more visible in reduced light conditions.CLUB STATION
:OLD BUSINESS
:The ARRL equipment insurance has not been secured as of yet. There have been several requests for serial numbers and evaluations of the equipment but the insurance company has yet to respond with a policy or a description of coverage. Contact with the ARRL for assistance may be in order.
NEW BUSINESS:
The power supply for the 220 emergency packet station at the repeater site is almost ready to be installed. A magnet mounted antenna in needed for the IVR to be attached to Red Cross Emergency Vehicles. The estimated cost is between $25 - $45.There was a comment that the log of activity at disasters that was compiled by Paul (KG8OU) has proven very helpful to the Red Cross.
