Events

The Biggest Event in Amateur Radio Is Field-Day...
Through the year we may have many special event stations. These can be for the opening of a new bridge or some other significant event. These events help our Members to polish their skills so we can be more ready in case of an emergency, even when the Water runs high some years.

ARCARS Mission Statement

Our goal is to create a state of the art communication system for
the service of the America Red Cross that will work independently of
all other conventional communications systems. We are developing this
system to place equipment in the American Red Cross building as well
as equip a mobile office capable of traveling to a disaster site.
Our purpose is to assist the Disaster Team by providing communications
in the damage assessment process as well as coordinating the various
services of the American Red Cross.

Our members consist of amateur radio operators and others from our
community that possess the knowledge to set up and operate necessary
equipment under adverse conditions. We desire to build on the equipment
that we have acquired and perfect our skills and remain disaster ready.
To date we have an operational 2 meter and 440 mhz voice communication system
and a 220 mhz and 2 meter packet digital communications system. We have other
equipment capable of local and world wide communications. Many of our members
have similar systems of their own that they maintain at their home. Many have
personal communication equipment in there cars or trucks to maintain readiness.
