Old Business:

A trunk sales event or trunk swap to raise funds was discussed and tabled for now.
Na8i, Gene is sending in a more detailed equipment list for the insurance for the 146.800 Repeater to qualify for coverage.

ARCARS Radio Room

The ARCARS radio room looks awesome. We now have another desk in the room and Mark N8egj has done a lot of work to make it look great. Thank you Mark and the other members that have put time into the room and have done the other work that has gone on to secure us in place as wanted and needed volunteers of the American Red Cross and ARCARS.

New Business:

An e-mail message was sent to Mark (n8egj) asking when or if the ARCARS group would be sponsoring any sort of amateur classes. The need to gather material and to put a team together for classes needs to be explored. N8egj thought he could come up with the material and then we could examine possibility of classes from that point in time.

Net Report:

We Had 15 check-ins on last weeks ARCARS net. The average for the month was ten operators per net.

Disaster report by Mark Peltier:

Mark told the group that although not everything went smoothly for the volunteers and radio operators at Ira Twp fire last month, the feedback from the firefighters and clients that we served was that people were impressed with how quickly that The American Red Cross was on site. Our efforts were well appreciated. Mark said it was a learning experience and that we will be making changes to our readiness plans to make thing's go more smoothly.

Field-Day Pins:

The Year 2000 field-day pins are available through the ARRL but if you want them we must order them as soon as possible. Otherwise we won't have them for field-day. If you would like a pin contact Paul, Kg8ou / Gene Na8i / Mark N8egj / Dennis Kb8ocg.

Field-Day:

Gene Na8i will contact Mrs. Reid to see if the site at Avoca will be available. The question was brought up as to how large of an exercise we were going to do. We will need more people to become interested and to let the group know what they want to do. If you are interested in learning how to set up emergency communications, the Field-Day event is a great place to learn. We will be glad to show you. All you have to do is show up at the site. If you have an RV type vehicle or a camper, tent or otherwise and would like to stay the weekend please let ,Na8i, Gene know. We will only have a limited amount of 120 vac (power) to go around so please let Gene Na8i know what you need.

Motion: to adjourn Walt Wa8fpf seconded Rodger Ki8cl. No one opposed. Meeting adjourned 8:40 PM
