VE3SSM VHF emergency number dial *9
VE3SSM UHF emergency number dial 9*
The 911 call centre is located in Sault Ste Marie Ont. Inform the 911 operator that you are on a Ham radio and that she/he can not interrupt you. Be specific as to your location. The 911 operator will NOT be able to assert this from the information provided to them on their call display terminal. Stay calm and speak slowly and clearly. First state the nature of the emergency then, let the operator ask the questions as they are trained to do so.
If you dial this emergency number by accident, PLEASE DO NOT HANG UP. Stay on the line and explain to the operator that you are on a radio telephone and dialled it by mistake. If you do hang up, the operator will think the worst and the repeater custodian will end up getting a message which he/she will not like. So... in the spirit of amateur radio, please be considerate and courteous as true ham operators always are...
VE3SJI is linked to the VE3SSM UHF repeater. To bring up the link, dial 651. To take down the link dial 650.
VA3SNR is linked to the VE3SSM UHF repeater. To bring up the link, dial 661. To take down the link dial 660. (This link is still under construction and may not work reliably all of the time)
