MINUTES OF THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
OF THE
ALBUQUERQUE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB
2 July 2005
- Preliminary Items
- The Meeting was called to order by Vice President Freeman Pascal, N5FPP, at 0802
- Visitors introduced themselves
- Invocation was led by Don Grab, K5BIS
- Vice President Pascall led in the Pledge of Allegiance
- Self Introductions were made by all present
- Silent Key remembered KB5BH
- ARRL Report: Bill Weatherford, KM5T [sic]
- House Resolution #230 is calling for the FCC to reevaluate it's support of BPL
- Emergency Communications Level 1 registration opens on July 4th.
- Local Reports
- Kermit, N5VA upgraded the computer at the VA radio shack
- This is the last meeting before the ARDF competition in August and Freeman passed around a volunteer sign up sheet.
- Don Grab announced the Duke City Hamfest August 19 and 20.
- Due to a number of activities there will be no meeting on Saturday August 6th.
- Mike Eaton K5MJE announced theat the Bernalillo County ARES meets the 2nd. Wednesday of each month at the Monzano Mesa Multcultural Center from 1930 to 2100. There is also a weekly net on 146.9 MHz on Thursday Evenings at 1900.
- Pat announced that on August 21st. we need 9 volunteers to man the phones for the KNME pledge drive. To volunteer call Pat.
- We said good bye to Paul Richie [sic] who is moving to Wisconsin. Paul [sic] has been a great asset to Amateur Radio in the area as an instructor and in the Duke City Hamfest. [Ed.: Richie Allen is the person's name.]
- The manager of JB's restaurant asked if we could park farther away from the building.
- No Old business
- No New Business
- Minutes of last meeting were approved
- Treasurers report was approved
- Program was on the Field Day activities.
