For our first run to do a members section of the news letter I thought I might run myself as the Guinea Pig. I really need more biographical information sheets and more pictures to do this. Then there is the little dilemma of matching the right biographical sketch with the right picture. Face it. The biographical sketch of Mike Pendley would look funny with the picture of Pat Wood.

After the USMC and college, I was in the USAF and got into Ham radio at Blytheville, Arkansas. My first rig was a Yeasu HF and a 25 ft. vertical in my back yard. After I transferred to Yokota, Japan I didn't do any radio for 20 years. I just came back and did my Technician In January of 2004 and upgraded to General in February. I work for Central Baptist Association. I have pastored for the last 15 years and now I do disaster relief and community ministries. Concerning Ham radio, I love the hobby but I know so very little. I'm really interested in learning how to do APRS and some digital modes. They go well with my work in disaster relief.
