MINUTES OF THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
OF THE
ALBUQUERQUE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB
5 March 2005
- Preliminary Items
- The meeting was called to order by president Pendley, K5ATM, at 0805.
- Visitors were introduced.
- Don Grab, K5BIS, led the invocation.
- President Pendley led the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Self-introductions were made by all present.
- Reports:
- ARRL report; SM Bill Weatherford, KM5FT reported on the ARRL Emergency Communications Courses. These are the final months to be able to take them with a full tuition reimbursement upon completion. In the future those who enroll will not be reimbursed so act now.
- N5VA report; Kermit Goettsche, KB5HW reported on the Veterans Administration Hospital radio shack. N5VA is open from 10:00 to 12:00 Monday through Friday.
- Announcements:
- Boy Scout Troop 395: Doug Asher, KK5DUG, announced that the troop will be holding Technician license classes. They are looking for both students and instructors.
- Public Service Events; Ed Rico, N5LI, announced the Pony Club Horse Trials on April 2nd and 3rd and said he was still looking for volunteers to work this. He also stated that one of the key activities of Ham Radio was public service events. They give us good practice for emergency communications.
- Field Day; Freeman Pascal, N5FPP, announced the up coming Field Day and said he's still looking for volunteers to help plan and organize it.
- No old Business
- New Business The only new business was presented by Secretary, Carl Russell, KE5AKI, concerning logo wear. Embroidery plus will sell us hats, jackets and shirts with our club logo and individual call sign embroidered. An order form is provided with the prices.
- Minutes and Treasurer's report were approved by the membership.
- Program was presented by Mike Pendley, K5ATM, on software defined radio.
- Meeting adjourned at 9:15 am
