Ham radio is a multifaceted hobby for all, no age, gender or physical disability can prevent the fun communicating and studying the cultures of the world or helping others at a time of emergency. From around town to around the world and satellites in outer space. Meet the person down the block or a king or prince in a distant land, having a Ham friend is at your finger tips and the click of  a microphone. We are licensed by the FCC, a rather simple routine by passing the written Technician test. We also have the General and the technically more challenging Extra Class licenses which require passing a 5 word per minute Morse Code as well as a written test.

We'd love to have you aboard.

My Bio

To be young again ! Why not?

Sometimes I thirst for water(fishing). On the other hand weightlifting is fun too(bowling). When all else fails, I'll have a stroke of luck(golf, I shoot around 90) But I always come back to Amateur Radio:

Six Meter Club(SMC) of Chicago (I'm the Treasurer)
DuPage Amateur Radio Club(DARC, past President)
Metro-DX Club
Hamfesters Radio Club(past Treasurer)
Central Oregon DX Club

My enthusiasm peaks when I'm Hamming it up at Field Day, contesting, contacting DX(foreign stations) around the world or working Ten-Ten members on the 10 meter band(try 28.420MHz also the Steel City Chapter net frequency).
