CQ WPX CW 2001

For this contest we had the Tower Trailer configured with three beams.  On the top (66 feet) is a Force 12 240X, 2 element 40M beam on a 24 foot boom.  In the middle at 58 feet is a Hygain 204BA, 4 element 20M on a 26 feet boom.  Both top antennas are rotate with the Ham IV in the tower trailer.  The bottom beam at 38 feet is a Hygain 155bas modified to 155CA dimension.  It is a 5 element beam which played very well into Europe at only 38 feet.  A C4SXL was also used for 10 M on another tower.

During the contest I ran 15M on the run radio and 20M multiplier radio or 20M on the run and 40 on the mult radio.  Didn't run 10M until Sunday afternoon and then only on run radio as I was getting tired.  With 1500 watts out on the run and 1000 watts on the multiplier station I could breakup any pileup with one call anywhere in the world I could hear.  This antenna system played very well and with the coax stubs and bandpass filters I had no crosstalk on any band except 20M and 10 M where I will add additional coax stubs to give another 20db isolation.  Note this problem only occurred on the exact second harmonic on my 14 Mhz cw signal.  Tuning off 10 khz and I couldn't hear a thing!
