The Regenerative Circuit

: After using the crystal set for a few months, I began expermenting with vacuum tubes. I had read in some radio books about the regenerative circuit and about its increased sensitivity to radio signals. The one tube regenerative receiver seemed to be a good place to start. I had used a vacuum tube as a detector but its sensitivity left something to be desired. From my junk box, I hooked up the regenerative, circuit shown below and was amazed at the results. At night on the broadcast band, I could get a different station every ten kilocycles over the whole tuning range of the capacitor. The schematic of the one tube regenerative receiver is shown below.
