Welcome to Radio AH7E Hawaii!

Welcome to the Aloha State's largest and most active web site devoted to scanning!  Founded in 2000, Radio AH7E Hawaii is the largest and most comprehensive website for monitoring public safety communications in the 50th State.  However, as you will see, we do more than just public safety, because there are so much more services that can be monitored!

For most people, scanning can be thought in terms of a 'police scanner', but the radio spectrum is infinite.  You can listen to a lot more than just police - like firefighters/EMTs, aircraft, federal/local governments, weather, newspaper & TV media crews, marine, utility workers, and sports teams, just to name a few.  The kinds of radios that are out there can even be used to listen to signals from around the globe on the shortwave bands.

Please keep in mind that this is a hobby for me.  I do all the work on the Radio AH7E Hawaii site, and answer all e-mail and correspondence in my free time.  While you can say that my job is a daunting task (especially during site redesigns!), I enjoy providing a medium in which a radio monitoring community can grow and prosper, and sharing information that can be useful for both the serious and occasional hobbyist.

Our Goals

- Provide a community for hobbyists interested in seeing radio monitoring prosper and grow in the Aloha State!

- Provide the most up to date source of radio-related news, and newsworthy local news that I may hear on the scanner that affect you.

- Provide resources that new users can utilize to answer their own questions and educate themselves

- Provide a means necessary for all users at all skill levels to contribute their knowledge and experience in an effort to help one another.

- Provide a resource that will allow prospective hams in getting their amateur radio license for the first time, or for current hams to upgrade to a higher class license!

A word of caution!

We are in the middle of re-building this website with a new look and feel.  When complete, this site will consist of over 60+ pages!  Don't expect to find what you're looking for right off the bat.  Just like moving to a new city, it will take time to learn your way around and get the lay of the land.  Give yourself a few visits to get a general idea of how things are organized, and explore different paths each time you visit.  Most of all, be sure to visit often!  We are in the process of implementing a new search engine to quickly locate any and all references around the site, and navigation links have been changed so that pages are now grouped by major headings.

Wouldn't you like to know who we are, where we've come from, and where we'd like to go?

We need you to do your part to help and support this site and our hobby!
