Department of Defense - Military
System Type: Motorola P25 Digital (9600 baud)
RF Band: 400 MHz

Introduction
All branches of the United States military in Hawaii switched radio operations to a common 400 MHz Motorola P25 digital radio system in 2007. All frequencies and radio sites remained the same, but the system underwent a few changes in base and offset data as noted below. Talkgroup IDs also changed.

System Layout

System Users
All branches of the US military--Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy, and other federal agencies use this system.

Radios Used
Most agencies use various flavors of theMotorola XTS-5000 portable radios. It is unknown what kind of mobile radios are in use.

Monitoring This System
As of this update, only the Pro-96 handheld and Pro-2096 base scanner can monitor this system. There have been some subtle changes to the radio system as it relates to the base frequencies and offset channels that a Pro-96 or Pro-2096 right out of the box will not track. The scanner must be programmed via computer as this is the only way the base frequency and channel offset data can be correctly input to the scanner.
