Tottori

The picture above is of Mt. Daisen, Tottori's major landmark. The largest mountain in western Japan, Daisen literally means "big mountain" in Japanese. Viewed from the western part of the prefecture, it looks similar to Mt. Fuji. Together with the Oki Islands offshore, the area around Mt. Daisen forms Daisen-Oki National Park. Most days the brooding summit remains obscured by cloud cover, so it was extremely rare that we got this good of a view.
