Egypt

A couple shots of me with the pyramids, the first with me in the foreground just to add scale.

The second a more ridiculous picture,
with me seemingly more interested in quenching my thirst with a can of Coke than gawking at these ancient structures.

In front of two of Egypt's most recognized man-made wonders,
the Sphynx at Giza and the giant stone carvings at Abu Simbel in the south near the Sudan border.

---------------------------------------

Uzbekistan

The Ark, an ancient fortress in Bukhara, a city that claims to be more than 2,500 years old.

That's me as a tiny dot in the lower left next to this imposing structure that was a Muslim school in eons past.

Oman

In front of a school for the study of the Holy Quran in Muscat.

---------------------------------------

Libya

Dwarfed by ancient treasures as well as Qaddafi's larger-than-life ego.

---------------------------------------

Iraq

Any "Axis of Evil" tour needs a stop in Iraq.
It proved to be a fascinating journey, and the Kurdish people of the north were surprisingly welcoming and friendly.

---------------------------------------

United Arab Emirates

A couple shots in the lobby and Al Muntaha Skyview Restaurant in the world's most luxurious hotel, the Burj al Arab.

Successfully getting by the guards on Palm Jumeirah to get this shot in the mesmerizing lobby of the Atlantis Hotel.

Inside and outside of the newly-completed Burj Khalifa, now the tallest building in the world.

---------------------------------------

Kuwait

In front of the Kuwait Towers, I just couldn't control the impulse to stick my head into this shot.

---------------------------------------

Qatar

Growing my beard out in front of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.

---------------------------------------

India

At the top of a mosque in Delhi enjoying a fine view of the city.

There was no way I was going to pass up the chance to be photographed with what is perhaps the world's most famous romantic building.

Sri Lanka

Near the entrance of Ruhunu/Yala National Park at the southeastern tip of the island.
