One of the smallest inhabited main islands, Lanai stands out for its eerie red color, reminding the visitor of the planet Mars. It is most famous for its two resorts, the Lodge at Koele and the Manele Bay Hotel, playgrounds of the rich and famous. For the rest of us, a 4-wheel drive jeep is the best way to see all that the island has to offer.
