Ham radio operator Gordon Baker

Jefferson County, Tennessee, Grid Square EM86ha. Previous call KG4FRG.

This is a "Thank you" to all the people who provided encouragement to me over the years.

I lived on Oahu, Territory of Hawaii from 1955 until 1958. When in High School, my neighbor Joe Drolet, converted a 5 tube AC/DC superhet radio to receive the 160-meter band. This allowed me to listen to the Johnston Island and other local nets. That started my interest in radio.

One of many people who influenced me is Mr. Jack Taylor (W7VCM) in Arizona. He had the most awe inspiring Cubical Quad I had ever seen. It was a tri-bander (10-15-20 mtrs) between 60 to 100 feet high and was matched very well. It functioned as a loop on 40 meters. He is N7OO now.
