AG1C

Amateur Radio Station

Welcome to the AG1C website! I was first licensed as a ham in October, 1996 as N1XYR and I changed my call sign to AG1C in 2000. My main interests in Amateur Radio are contesting and HF operation. In my shack, I run a Yaesu FT-1000MP into an Alpha 89 amp. I use a Traffie Hex Beam for 10,12,15,17, and 20 and inverted V's for 40 and 80.

I enjoy ARRL Field Day operations with the Southborough Rod & Gun Club Amateur Radio Committee. This year we operated in the woods on the grounds of the gun club using generator power. As is our tradition, food and adult beverages were plentiful and a great time was had by all. Once again, Dave, G3VGR, was able to take the trip across the pond and operate with us. There are pictures of the event on Dave's site as well as on the W1SRG site.

The ARRL is the U.S. National Organization for Amateur Radio operators. To find out more about amateur radio and learn how to become a ham, visit the ARRL web site!

The world champion Yankee Clipper Contest Club (YCCC) has captured the title for the last three years in a row! We are looking to repeat again this season, but competition will be tough. If you are a ham in call zone 1 or 2 you are probably in our territory and we'd love to have you join us! Please go to the web site for more details.

In addition to ham radio, I also belong to the Southborough Rod & Gun Club where I shoot rifle, pistol, and shotgun. Although the club boasts of some fine shooting facilities, we seem to spend quite a bit of time in our well equipped kitchen!
