Interface Requirements
Sound Device
- Internal or External Soundcard with wide dynamic range (16 or 24 bits)
- State-of-the-art External Sound Devices connect via Universal Serial Bus port
Control Lines
- Serial Port for Computer Aided Transceiver
- (CAT) Control or USB Adaptor
Notes:
The main interface between your HF transceiver and the PC running the MARS-ALE software is a sound device. The MARS-ALE software development team recommends an outboard sound device. They feel outboard sound devices are less likely to pick up interference (noise) by devices inside your PC. PCI soundcards are also acceptable. Cabling for these interfaces will vary with your transceiver. Count on either finding a suitable commercial cable or wiring up your own.
