MARS – ALE Software
Radio Requirements
NTIA Compliant (Of course !)
Supports Computer Aided Transceiver (CAT) Protocol
Additional Desired Radio Features
- Supports Silent Scanning and Sounding
- Supports Variable Output Power Levels via CAT
Notes:
Your MARS-ALE radio should be NTIA compliant. ALE operation inherently requires very close tolerances on the radio’s frequency. Otherwise, the transmitted digitally encoded tones cannot be received correctly. Link quality analysis and linking depend on correct frequency of operation.
The Computer Aided Transceiver protocol is found in most current transceivers. This is important to allowing the computer to direct the transceiver to scan (and sound) the authorized channels. MARS-ALE utilizes this important radio feature.
