MARS-ALE could be used in many different networks. For regional HF networks, high radiation angle antennas might be appropriate. For Transcon or long distance networks, low radiation angle antennas may be appropriate. Clearly, at a systems level, MARS-ALE should support various types of operation. This would involve controls for antenna switching and antenna tuning. At this time, this is a planned development activity for the MARS-ALE. Some specific details have been worked out for specific types of equipment that can switch between or tune up antennas. More work needs to be done here.
