| My 5th grade basketball team only had 8 girls but we were pretty good if I do say so myself. Nikki H. made almost all of her lay ups & can dribble really really good. Amy & I played down low so much together that if we weren't in at the same time we almost got confused. Breanna always knew where to be & when to be there. Rebekah & Alisha were always there ready to do what was asked of them. Rebekah also was ready to help people up (even on the other team). Shanda (who had a habit of sitting on the ball during a game) always made us laugh & worked hard to stop double dribbling. Nicole (who goes to a different school) tried as hard as she could to work as hard as everyone (if not harder). We won all but 5 of our games (out of around 13 or 14). The 5th grade boys didn't have such lucky year. Winning only one of their games. I'm almost positive that they deserved winning more than the other team did. I'm sure they had more practices than the other team & they probably worked harder than the other team, but then again that's life completely unfair to people when they most need it! |
