JP3.txt programs. Jurassic Park III programs. Problem- Shortcut on Desktop makes a Dinosaur walk across your screen. Also this is set up so that when you re-start your computer it will automatically come on. Solution- 1. Click on Start. 2. Click on Run. 3. In the Open box type Msconfig. 4. Click on OK. 5. Click on the Startup Group Tab. 6. Take a check mark out of the box that says "Spino" next to it. 7. Click on Apply and then click on OK 8. Click on Yes to re-start your computer. This is the infamous Runaway Spino program. It's almost like a virus to your computer. The thing is nothing but an advertising gimmick; read about it at: http://www.hothouse.com.au/news_Article.asp?ID=68 (If mosquitoes carried advertising that kept biting you, would you buy the product??) The JP3 programs DinoDefender and DangerZone add a very visible desktop shortcut to "Runaway Spino." The user will see no other desktop icon related to JP3, and will naturally assume it's for running the main program. This was intentional on the part of Havas. They WANTED to make sure people would click on this thing. When you run Runaway Spino, it installs the program and makes another desktop icon called Spino. Then it rigs this Spino thing to run automatically when you restart your computer. If you are in 32-bit video mode, the Spino will be seen in the taskbar, but you won't see any dinosaur. It still noticeably hogs the processor. You can remove the program by simply right-clicking on the dinosaur running around on the desktop. You will see a menu come up on the screen. Click uninstall. If you can't right-click for some reason, uninstall the whole JP3 program. Then look in the former directory for a leftover file called Dino3.exe. You might have to use the Find or Search util in Windows to locate it. Delete that file. Now reinstall the program, and ditch the Runaway Spino icons as soon as possible so you won't get into that mess again. ======================= Problem: After Starting Dino Defender, click on name and Accept Mission, then when loading the mission saved in slot 1, receive the error message "Director Player Error, Script Error" and have to exit. Solution: Restart the program, where it has your name, delete it. Enter in your name, choose Start Mission. When you save, do NOT save to Slot 1. ======================== When I click play I get the error "Director Player Error, Script Error" This error occurs when the program fails to initialize QuickTime. Click Start, go to Programs and then to QuickTime Click Uninstall QuickTime Choose the option Uninstall Everything. Click Start, then click Run, and type in x:\Support\QTWFILES\QuickTimeInstaller.exe (substitute your CD-ROM drive letter for X) Follow the prompts to reinstall QuickTime. Try the program again. NOTE: This error also happens when you have multiple joystick or gamepad devices connected. Disconnect all but one of them and run the program again. If this doesn't fix it, go into game controllers and remove any that say "not responding." ============================= DinoDefender - level 3, how to get past the T-rex. 1. Sign in and start new mission 2. Make your way to level 3 3. At level 3, get to the 3 circuit breaker(switch) 4. After flipping the circuit breaker, scroll right until you reach the 2 small pteranodons. 5. Go down 1 screen, left 1 screen, and down 4 screens 6. Try to climb down as fast as you can to avoid the T-rex No matter how fast you go down, you can't get past the T-rex and go to the next screen. It was mentioned that flares would be accessible to distract the T-rex, but there was no ammo available. You must stop on the ledge so that the T-Rex is distracted by the pterodon babies. If you move before he sees them, he will kill you. It's a little tricky, but it can be done. You need to stay well ahead of the baby pteranodon, and make it down to the outcropping, just infront of T-Rex. Then sit quiet and don't move. The baby pteranodon scurry over towards the beast, distracting him - that's when you continue your descent down the cliff. ==================================
