DLCS.txt programs. Problem: Need to insert ADI CD Solution: CUSTOMER HAS A SONY CDRW CRX140E (F DRIVE) AND A TOSHIBA DVD ROM SD-M-1402 (E DRIVE) HAS A CRYSTAL WDM AUDIO CODEC SOUND CARD AND 127MB RAM. A INTEL R810 PV2 VIDEO CARD. THIS IS A PIONEX 800 WITH WIN98SE. COMPLETELY DELETED AND REINSTALLED THE PROGRAM.... SAME THING. HAD CUSTOMER PUT THE CD IN THE OTHER DRIVE TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN AND IT STARTED UP AND WORKED. GO FIGURE THIS ONE. CUSTOMER IS GOING TO CONTACT PIONEX AND WILL LET ME KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS. Steve had a similar situation yesterday. The error he got was "CD not in Unit". He tried the other player and it worked also. Hope this adds to the everlasting confusion of doing our job. ======================= Won't show the video portion of it; black screen but can hear it; if she hits Esc the program exits. She says she installed the Quicktime. AMD Athlon processor. Video is "Rage Fury Pro Expert 2000 Pro" video. Has SB Live, ATI, and "Specialized MVI WDM codec" sound drivers. No conflicts. Video set for 1024x768x32-bit. Changed it to 256. Tried program; works. ======================= DLCS Math 9-12 lockup Program locks up during the initial rocket animation. Pressing a key brings up the Secret of the Lost City title screen. Pressing a key again brings up the main screen, then an exit program dialog box. You cannot click No to not exit. Clicking Yes takes you back to Windows. Solution: The program has two installation options: run from the CD and a 15MB hard drive installation. If the program is installed to the hard drive, it does not run properly. If it is installed with the run from the CD option, the program starts and runs normally. Appears to be a bug in the hard drive installation routine. Note: The non-DLCS version of Secret of the Lost City works fine from the hard drive installation. Only the DLCS version has the problem. If the user decides to install the program to their harddrive, another option would be to change the default directory to: C:\Program Files\Math Ages 9-12 ========================== Subject: DLCS Phonics Ages 7-9 - words with same letter 2 places Scrambled word game in sheriff's office. In the word "package", one letter A gets the long A sound and the other letter A gets the short "ih" sound. And there's no way to tell them apart on screen, other than that they sound different. So if a player gets a word like "package" and it doesn't accept it, switch the two letter A's around and it should work. One odd quirk I noticed on the MAC: It is the Kid Phonics 2 game, it installs to the Kid Phonics 2 folder, if there's a previous install of Kid Phonics 2 it runs off of that. They didn't even try to disguise it. =========================== DLCS reading, PDF prints different sizes. DLCS Reading.
