Overview

BCProgTool.tcl Control & Programming Tool is designed using TCL/TK Version 8.5 for the following computer operating systems:

  1. Linux (Tested with Fedora, Mandriva, Slackware, SuSE & Ubuntu)
  2. Windows 98/XP/Vista/Win7 with the TCL/TK software toolkit installed. Use the provided link to download the required program.
  3. Mac OS X This program script will work with Macintosh OS X PPC and Intel. You will need a USB to FTDI or Keyspan Serial port converter to connect the radio. If you do NOT use Snow Leopard you will need to install Active State ActiveTCL. 8.5 for Mac OS X
  4. BSD or other UNIX Systems (Tested on PC-BSD 7.1) This program should work with other UNIX type systems. When you start the program go to the options menu select Setup and enter your custom serial port.
This program script is released under the GPL License and is copyrighted software. This program script is free for any use.

How this script works. Just like when you run a word processing program you load a file that contains all your text and formatting data like fonts and colors TCL/TK software loads the bcprogtool.tcl script and executes the software directions in the script.


BCProgTool.tcl will create or edit the following items in the BCT15X, BC346XT, BCD396XT & BCD996XT

  1. Opening Message
  2. Custom Search Ranges
  3. US & Canada Weather SAME ALERT Names and Codes
  4. Motorola Trunked Radio Systems
    1. VHF 137-200 MHz
    2. UHF 380-512 MHz
    3. Type I 800 MHz & Rebanded
    4. Type II 800, 900 MHz & Rebanded
    5. APCO-25 Digital Voice Trunked and Single Channel Systems (P25S, P25F)
  5. LTR Trunked System
  6. EDACS Trunked Systems
    1. Wide (Standard)
    2. Narrow
    3. SCAT
  7. Conventional Systems.
  8. Talk Group ID's
  9. Directly Edit Conventional & System Contents in the Radio
  10. Download Radio Systems from the scanner radio and reload using Add System menu.
  11. Control & Programming of all XT radio Settings such as Close Call and Tone Out settings.
  12. Program & Edit GPS Locations
