Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, will hold vigil on Friday 1-21-2005 at 5:15PM for victims of tsunami. SU plans a candlelight vigil on the steps of Hendricks Chapel to remember the victims of the December 26 Indian Ocean tsunami. Chancellor Nancy Cantor, Chaplains from Hendricks Chapel and students plan to speak. The public is welcome. Free parking will be available in the Irving Garage. Students were on winter break when the tsunami took place.

In the first week of the year Syracuse University has established a Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund to assist victims of the devastating tsunami that occurred on December 26, 2004. Individuals who wish to contribute to the SU Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund may send checks to Hendricks Chapel, Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y. 13244. Checks may be made payable to Hendricks Chapel, and donors should clearly designate on the memo line that the donation is for the "SU Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund." All funds collected will go to the Red Cross to aid victims of the tsunami disaster in affected areas.
