Heathkit HW-8 QRP Transciever

The Heathkit HW-8 was introduced in the mid 70's as an improvement over the HW-7, Heathkit's first entry into the popular QRP arena. It is a four band (80, 40,20 and 15 meter) vfo controlled cw transceiver capable of 2-3 watts ouput. I use it when I'm camping, stringing a 40 meter dipole in the trees. There is something magical about sitting at a picnic table in a campground at night and talking to someone many hundreds of miles away, using this portable battery operated rig.
