The least you need to know:
- If you have a current license, bring the original and a copy. In most cases, we can't give you an upgrade without seeing an original. However, there are exceptions when it comes to receiveing credit for the Element 1 (Morse code) test. See the "Grandfathered" and "Morse Code credit" questions on the FAQ page for details.
- Bring the original and a copy of any CSCE's you want us to give you credit for.
- Bring some form of picture identification, like a driver's license, state ID card, or even a passport. If you have no picture I.D., then bring any two of the following: birth certificate with seal, minor's work permit, school report card, utility bill, bank statement, or other business correspondence that specifically names you, or a postmarked envelope addressed to you at the same address you'll be putting on your FCC Form 605.
- The 2004 test fee for ALL elements remains at $12.00.
- If you don't pass a test, you may be allowed to re-test for an additonal fee, time permitting.
- No pre-registration required, walk-ins are welcome. Please arrive early so we can get your paperwork done before the appointed start time of 7:00 P.M. Out of courtesy to other candidates, if you arrive late you may be refused entry.
- The test site is the Shiawassee County Red Cross, located at 702 W. Corunna Ave., Corunna, MI
