AARC Monday Night Net
This net meets each Monday at 8:00 P.M. Local time.

Alice N5WBH is net control for the Monday night net. The purpose of this net is to establish a protocall for emergency communication, direction of radio traffic, and enhancement of amateur radio operations.

Along with passing of traffic and preparation for weather and other emergencies, we also have other regular features. We give amateurs the oportunity to learn from each other by asking technical questions.

We also have a trading post for amateurs to be able to buy, sell, trade, or give away amateur radio related items.

Alice gives us the late breaking news of interest to local hams. This includes announcements of local events as well as news from sources such as the ARRL, FCC, and other hams.

The net usually ends with a round of So You Want To Be An Amatuer Radio Operator. This is based on The Millionaire game so popular on TV.

On the first Monday of every month we have our practice net for weather and other emergencies. For that activity spotters are sent out to their spotting positions and net control originates from the Athens Main Fire Station. This gets everyone use to proceedures that will take place in actual weather emergencies.

Our net is open to all amateurs with priveledges on two meters.
