Short Whip Antenna Tuner

Here is a circuit that will resonate a short whip antenna for the HF Bands. There is very little information about tuning a short whip on the net that I could find so I thought I'd post it here. I use this mostly for a receive antenna, but with the components that I used and with an appropriate ground/counterpoise it could be used with a transmitter. Stay away from the whip if you use it for transmit; RF burns are no fun!

Circuit Details:

The inductor is a Ten Tec Rotary Inductor (28uH).
My whip is 60" long and about 0.5" in diameter at its base.
My setup will resonate 40m through 6m.
