To promote amateur radio, especially to encourage QRP (low power) operation and radio "homebrew."

To make it a helpful page for those wanting to build the High Performance Receiver, aka., the Progressive Receiver, by W7ZOI and K5IRK. In the Progressive Receiver pages you will find construction hints and design considerations with modifications provided by "Mike," W3TS, one of my "elmers." I hope you find these pages useful and interesting.

To provide helpful information regarding the use of surface mounted components in homebrew projects. (This one is a work in progress.)

To encourage "wilderness radio" via backpacking and camping. Although this section of the web site is still in its infancy stages, you just can't beat this combination. Taking a lightweight QRP rig to the woods is great fun. I plan to add summary accounts of my treks as I have opportunity to get away from the everyday doldrums.
