Here's some of what's in the shack. Sorry, no pictures yet.
A Yaesu FT990 functions as the IF for all bands 50mhz thru 432.
Surplus 6way SMA microwave relays distribute the rx IF's to the
transverter. I use a power divider to divide the transmit IF.
FT221 does the IF function for 903-5760 for now, same scheme.
2M
A Down East transverter, modified with high level injection drives an AM6154
for about 400W out. I use a db products can on the receive side. I have an SSB
SP2000 preamp on the mast which I hardly ever use.
1.25M
A W1VT (KH6CP/1) design no tune design is used, plus an 18W class AB brick,
to drive an AM6155 to about 350W. I have built up the "high intercept"
version of the tvtr, with high level rx LO mixing and a dual cavity front
end filter on receive.
70cm
Down East Microwave transverter, and a K2RIW 2 * 4cx250B amp (500W class AB).
In shack preamp.
33cm
A KK7B no tune (Down East) transverter and a surplus 60W class A 24 volt airband
amp. On receive, a 7 pole AT&T interdigital filter and hi-intercept preamp
drives the receive
converter.
The receive converter MMIC lineup has been modified to
reduce the gain and increase the dynamic range and IP3.
23cm
A homebrew transverter built up from surplus mixers, gain blocks, a PLL source
and a homebrew waveguide interdigital filter. This drives a water cooled N6CA
cavity (single 7289) to about 150W, with about 5W in. Again, I have a
mast mounted SSB electronics SP23 preamp at the antenna which I hardly ever use.
13cm
Modified early prototype DEM 13cm transverter, driving a 20 W TWT.
9cm
Modified new generation DEM transverter with surplus PLL LO.
Tuned up 45W Toshiba FET amp.
6cm
Homebrew and junkbox transverter consisting of an N1BWT design mixer, Cal.
Microwave PLL LO, A W5LUA design dual GaAsFET LNA, and a 10W Avantek TWT
replacement PA. 2 foot dish.
Best DX: AA2UK/FM28 - about 120mi. (with rig on dining room table, dish looking
out the slider in Jan)
