Need a QSO?
There is plenty of HF SSB activity in Bahrain. However if you need a cw or digital mode contact then it can be a bit tougher. I operate all modes from 30m - 10m inclusive. Please note that we do not have permission to use 6m in Bahrain. I am planning to have some sort of wire antenna (sloper?) installed for 160/80m in the autumn.
If you can't stand the heat
The most common question I am asked is "how hot is it?". It is not always hot in Bahrain. Whilst summer temperatures can peak around 48C, the Spring and Autumn months can be very pleasant. The winters are cool, typicall 18 - 20C during the day and can fall as low as 8 - 10C at night. Typically we get the most rain between December and April. The weather this week:
