Warning: This is not a project for the inexperienced. Much of the switch mode power supply circuitry is at full mains potential and contact with it can kill you. NEVER open up an SMPS case when it is connected to power, even if turned off. Beware of any residual charge on the mains capacitors, even if turned off for some time. Do NOT attempt to modify a SMPS unless you are fully competent and confident to do so.
