CROATIAN ISLANDS AWARD - CIA

Croatian IOTA Hunters Group - CIHG issues a diploma called Croatian Islands Award - CIA.

The award pays tribute to people located on Croatian islands with residents, some of which are small, desolate islands and islets

The aim of the award is to encourage and promote amateur radio activity from Croatian islands, both by local hams and those from abroad, which will also promote Croatian tourism.

The idea and design for the Croatian Islands Award came from both the President of the Croatian IOTA Hunters Group Kresimir Juratovic, 9A7K, and Branko Gracin, 9A6BND, CIHG member.

The diploma is issued for confirmed contacts with hams operating from Croatian islands with residents (residents during the whole year). All QSOs after 5th July, 1992 are valid.

Diploma CIA is obtainable both for Activators (operators from Croatian islands and from Croatian lighthouses with residents) and Hunters (for contacts made with Activators).

A total of 60 Croatian islands and lighthouses count for the Award. Each island and lighthouse is allocated its permanent CIA reference number (ie, island Vis is CIA-56). A list of all Croatian islands and lighthouses valid for CIA is obtainable from the Award Manager on request. List is free of charge, however, return postage cover is required

(2 USD or 2 EUR).

The Award Manager has the privilege to disqualify an expedition, if he decides it does not comply with the requirements or the rules of ham spirit. The final decision concerning the expedition disqualification is taken by the CIHG Committee.
