   Our world is populated with amateurs - the keen people devoting the leisure to any favourite business. Whom only you will not meet among them. Bibliophiles, collectors, tourists, fishers, amateur photographers,  gardeners... At times energy and skill, persistence on achievement of an object in view of keen people force to concern to these enthusiasts with deep respect: one sticks together a breadboard model of a temple of Vasil Blazheny from matches, another is ready to run all over half-cities in searches of a rare stamp or a card.
True enthusiasts give favourite business all leisure, at times finding time and due to dream. So also one hobby quite suffices - much.
   There is, however, a hobby of absolutely special sort. It allows to unit together passion of the hunter and passion of the collector, forces to be engaged in designing, demands skill to speak in foreign languages, induces to get acquainted with geography and a radio engineering. You, certainly, have guessed, that the question is about short-wave amateur radio.
   The amateur radio communication is the communication service used for the purposes of self-improvement, mutual communication and the technical researches which are carried out by radio fans, i.e. the persons having on this due sanction and engaged in a radio engineering extremely from a personal interest and without extraction of material benefit (from the Rules of a radio communication).
   Amateur radio stations can be individual and shared. The individual radio station belongs to the concrete radio fan, is established at his place and only personally he has the right to work on her. The collective radio station is established or in the organization, or a house at the radio fan (family radio station).
   In the first case the organization appoints the chief of radio station who bears the responsibility for her work and carries out the admission to work on radio station of other people. In the second case one of members of family is responsible for work on radio station of other members of family (the wife, children), and also familiar and friends. In both cases all operators of collective radio station use one the general signal. On collective radio stations, and also individual radio stations of the fourth category can work and children, since eight years.
   According to all available information, the general number коротковолновиков in the world will soon achieve several millions. To the youngest representatives of this army of less than ten years, the oldest - for seventy. People of technics(technical equipment) and art, military men and housewives, schoolboys and students, teachers and politicians, workers and businessmen are fond of short waves.     What involves in amateur radio of people of so different trades and occupations?
