MY HAMRADIO STORY When I passed my 2e1 it was a very proud day for me , It was long in coming . I promised myself in 1986 I would take the course , but my son Ian came along so I put it on hold. Finally I passed in 2000 and soon took possession of my FT90. I found everyone on the radio to be really friendly & helpful. I soon made new radio friends and had a great time . Later on in the hobby came the chance to do the M3 course,Which gave me access to HF. Most of the older operators hated the crisp bag licences with a passion claiming it would turn out like CB. Well almost 3 yrs in every M3 station ive spoken to have been TOP CLASS OPERATORS. Putting some of the older stations to shame ..yes the frequencies are buzzing with activity which is what us radio hams love, so forget the past and move into the future , accept it and move with the times ,encourage, help and do all you can to get more operators on the air ,its what the hobby is all about.. Good luck to any new radio operators who are coming in to the hobby .Hope to catch you on frequency soon , it's a great hobby for young and old. Forget the snobbery and enjoy it for what it is
