My first radio I had was a pmr radio that I used to listen to my Dad and friends on 2M. Then I had a Hora C-150 which I had for my Birthday in preparation for when I passed. Then at Christmas I had a Yaesu FT-290 2M all mode transiever which is what I use at the moment with an old C.B. power supply and a homemade aerial which my Dad made for me
