Honda PC50 (E-C?) @1971

On the 19th October 2001, I was given a Honda PC50, Engine No: PC50E-C F595**..

It's Orange in colour with Orange fenders too. It's quite rusty and needs a lot of work.

When I came to check out the engine there was no compression.. but at least the engine was free. On close inspection with the head removed I could see that the exhaust valve was stuck open, a little oil freed it up and was put back and the engine was then checked again to see if there was any compression, there was. After nearly killing myself trying to pedal start the thing, it started to fire up, but ran erratically. Cleaned the carb out, and it ran better, though a little smoky..

There's 5500 Miles on the clock so I doubt if there's that much wear on the engine, maybe a scraper ring/ or rings are gummed up? It needs a front sprocket and a chain to go anywhere. I was thinking about letting my children have it as a plaything, but have decided against it. The smokey engine was probably due to lack of Service... as the original oil was like TAR! it had probably never been changed.

After putting an advert for selling a Lawnmower, I managed to GIVE this little bike away.. thank goodness for small mercys!!! oh and I sold the Lawnmower too ;)

I will leave this page here as it may give some amusement to some viewers.
