EVX6000 six bander, on test

This antenna was given to me by a local radio amateur club, it used to belong to Jim, G0LBF.. now silent key..
I went to his QTH with G0JCQ and helped remove it from the property. I would like to thank everyone at the club for letting me have the antenna, and to Jim's Wife letting us remove it, I am sure Jim would be pleased that it has gone to a club member.Update (jan 05), Sadly, Jims wife has also passed away.
I have had to repair the antenna, the top section had come loose at one time, and with the wind bashing it about, made the screw threads eliptical and the section that should have been held in place was at a very un-happy angle to the rest of the antenna. With a simple repair to that, and tightening up all the screws and bolts etc, the signals received are now quite steady without any "jumping" signals. The SWR seems steady too. I have tested it on the 6.10.04 and contacted YO9APK my report was 5-5 he was 5-7, the next was another Y-O, YO3RU he was a very strong signal with 5-9-20+ and I was a 5-9 at times. So VERY good results with the antenna only a 6FT off the ground (un-like the photograph would make you think!!!) I then on the 7.10.04 put the antenna up to twenty feet..see image-> Hi Hi, and worked EC7ACO on 21.200.7 he was very QSB but peaking 5-9, and from what I could tell I was doing OK with 5-7 at times, though at one point we both were so QSB that we couldnt hear eachother.. great fun!
I will try to sort of, sort out the Ham Section so that it has a little better presentation, and perhaps throw a spell checker over the words.. But feel free to check out the rest of my web site for other interesting stuff!!
