An Amateur Radio license grants its owner the privilege of using the most extensive set of wireless communication tools available to any private citizen, anywhere in the world.  In the United States, the entry-level “Technician” license can be had by passing a 35 question mulitiple-choice exam, administered by hams, at convenient locations all across the country.  This license will allow you access to the most popular VHF and UHF operating bands.
